For 36 years Gerry Martin and his partner owned Northern Drugs Ltd. a chain of independent drug stores operating in Northwestern BC. Mr. Martin is still active in business with Kra-Mar Investments as well as being President of Shames Mountain Ski Corporation, Past President of the Kitimat/Terrace Industrial Development Society and President of the Kitamaat Port Development Society.

Mr. Martin is a graduate of the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and professionally has served on the board of the BC Pharmacy Association and is a Past President of the Chain Drug Association of BC.

Throughout his business career, Mr. Martin has been active in a number of community endeavors both at the local and provincial level. At the present time, he is a member of the Premier's Technology Council, a member of the Transmission Planning Advisory Committee of the BC Transmission Corporation, and a Director of the University of Northern BC Foundation.
