Harry McWatters Harry McWatters established Vintage Consulting Group and Okanagan Wine Academy both divisions of Harry McWatters Inc. He is the founder of Sumac Ridge Estate Winery in Summerland and has been a driving force in the British Columbia wine industry since 1968. Mr. McWatters is the founding Chairman of the British Columbia Wine Institute and the Vintners Quality Alliance (VQA) program in British Columbia. In 2000, he sold Sumac Ridge to Ontario-based Vincor International. Mr. McWatters has won numerous awards as a winemaker and marketer, including Wine of the Wine in the All Canada Wine Competition and Jubilee Medal, an honorary Doctor of Laws from Okanagan University College, and, in 2003 was awarded the Order of British Columbia.
